• Take your ID document and rental
agreement
• Ask for Estonian ID code
• Register your place of stay
EU students: Step 2- Estonian IDcard
• Apply within one month
• Take these documents:
 Application form (can be filled in Citizenship
and Migration Bureau);
 Identification document;
 Document showing you have paid the state
fee (24.28 EUR);
 Color photo 4x5 cm.

NON-EU students: Step 1Temporary Residence Permit
• A document allowing studies in Estonia
• Issued for one year
• Has to be extended yearly
• Can be applied:
 Prior to arriving to Estonia (via Estonian
Embassy)
• Pickup in Embassy
• Pickup in Estonia
 After arrival to Estonia

 Submit health insurance;
 Good news, you are all done!
• Pickup from Estonia:
 Contact your case agent in Migration Bureau;
 Submit health insurance;
 Check that all documents are in order/submit
missing documents;
 And wait for the decision!

Curriculum Vitae;
applicant’s written justification as to why he/she wishes to settle to
study in Estonia;
a document which certifies the legal income;
a language skills certificate – get it from ISC
an identity document;
1 colour photo with measures 40x50 mm;
a document certifying the payment of the state fee;
an insurance contract;

Bureau office

• Apply at least 2 months before exp. date
• ISC will issue extension document
• Extend health insurance

 Allowed if part time and related to studies
 Salary is not allowed
• Working part/full time
 Bachelor students: only allowed after first year
 Master students: in agreement with your faculty
