Guideline for NATWA to Interact with the Taiwanese Government 北美州台灣婦女會與台灣 在島內及在美的政府機構互動的準則 Background Established by Darice Lee(洪珠美) during her midyear convention in 10/2007 Approved by our board during the pre-convention board meeting in 4/2008 Published in NATWA Magazine 6/2008 Committee Members (7) Committee Chair: Vivian Fu (林郁子), Members: Lian Yuan Chiu (邱良媛), Ginru Lee (葉錦如). Hilda Lin (賴慧娜), Elena Ling (黃美惠) Shang-Jing Pan (潘賢敬), Pearl Wang (湯明珠). Consultants Grace Huang: JD NATWA Legal Counselor Jeffrey Lee, CPA NATWA Tax Advisor Guideline 1 NATWA will not accept any form of direct or indirect financial aid from the Taiwanese government. Guideline #2 Any member who represents NATWA and participates in events sponsored by the Taiwanese government should first seek the approval of the executive board. Guideline #3 While in office, all NATWA board of directors should not endorse and/or co-sponsor any statements or activities without the approval of the executive board. Foot notes . These policies should apply not only to the Taiwanese government, but also to any “foreign non-US government.” 2. The committee realizes the challenges of enforcing the above policies and urges NATWA to initiate a program to educate our members/officers about the policies. A penalty should apply to members who violate these policies. 3. The Board then voted to continue the study of how to enforce the above guidelines. Darice suggested that we continued our discussion at the next mid-year convention.
