TANZANIA - Participatory District Agriculture Development Plan for Sustainable Development UNEP Initiative on Capacity Building for Integrated Assessment and Planning for Sustainable Development Mid-Term Review Meeting Geneva, February 16-17, 2005 Project overview: objective • to “ensure higher and sustainable income growth of the rural population” Project overview: Expected Outcomes • enhanced understanding of interrelationship: agriculture - poverty alleviation - environmental management sustainable trade promotion • enhanced national, institutional and human capacities for undertaking strategic integrated assessment and planning for sustainable development • enhanced national coordination between ministries and districts involved in the project • enhanced capabilities of policy-makers to design and implement comprehensive policies and measures for sustainable management of the environment.
