The X-Drive
When you log on to a classroom computer, you
are in your X-Drive. TurningPoint stores
Participant Lists and Session files in the My
Documents folder on your X-Drive, where you can
also copy and store other files.
Because you can access your X-Drive space from
an office or home computer, we recommend that
you copy your TurningPoint files to the X-Drive
and present them from there. It is more efficient
than using a flash drive to transfer presentation or
other files!
For faculty using SBA classrooms, contact the School of Business Administration
for instructions on use of G-Drive space for the same purposes.
I. How to access your X-Drive from
your office computer.
Right-click on My Computer.
Left-click on Map Network Drive.
Select X: in the Drive box.
Then, in the Folder box, type \\alpha_\username\
address (with the back-slashes), where the
underline is usually the first letter of your
username, as in the example shown. Then click
Finish.
An Attempting to Connect to… window appears,
and then a Connect to… window. Enter your
alpha password to log in to your X-Drive space.
When you are returned to
your desktop, double-click
My Computer. Your X-Drive
is ‘on Samba…’. Double
click on this drive to see the
contents…
Among the folders already on your
X-Drive is the TurningPoint folder,
which contains Participants and
Session folders for Participant
Lists and Session data files. You
may also copy TurningPoint
presentation files to this drive for
later presentation.
