Anne graduated from The University of Western Australia, with a Bachelor of
Commerce, in 2004….
…and promptly became an auditor.

…but it turned out that training people was
something Anne enjoyed very much.

CHANGE
Anne decided to pursue a career in teaching.
She graduated from Edith Cowan University with a Graduate Diploma of
Education in 2010.

Anne found that many of the skills she had developed
as an auditor were useful in her role as a teacher

DEVELOPMENT
Since becoming a teacher, Anne has developed many other skills, including the
ability to;
• Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with a given curriculum,
• Differentiate programs and assessments to meet student needs,
• Mark work and give students appropriate feedback on their performance
• Review curriculum programs, in consultation with others, and make
improvements for the future,
• Provide extra learning support to students through after-school tutoring,
and;
• Engage in reflective practices to ensure excellence in her teaching.

ACHIEVEMENTS
In her short career Anne has made some significant achievements. Two of her
favourites are;
• Building a rapport with an extremely disengaged year 9 student and helping
him return to his studies, and;
• Altering her teaching style to better suit her students needs through the use
of hands on learning activities, visual aids and the use of manipulatives.
