I have to tell you … that consequently this country is at war with Germany

Britain stands alone!

• By the summer of 1940, Germany had occupied almost of Europe – only Britain stood alone. Prime Minister Winston Churchill gave a stirring speech to rally the British people.

America joins the war!

• America declares war on Japan and Germany after Japanese attack Pearl Harbour, December 1941
