What are apps?

• Think of apps as placeholders that serve a specific function or give you a certain feature within your page. It’s similar to creating a PowerPoint slide.

Why use apps?

• • Apps give the user a flexibility in designing their page they didn’t have before. Another added feature is that you can share your apps with others.

Scenario: ▫ You want a one column page with a File Library, Link Library, and Podcast. In Centricity1 this would’ve been harder. Most likely multiple pages would have been created to accomplish this goal. With Centricity2 you are able to include these different functions all in one page because of apps.

How do apps work?

• Think of your page as a blank canvas in which you can place as many apps as you want.

Page Layout

• • • Once you create a new page you can modify the number of columns and/or sidebars within the page.

Column 1 Column 2 Within these columns you can place apps.

App 1 App 3 Apps have drag and drop App 2 capability meaning you can re-arrange them to your liking.

Where did pages go?

• • • • Pages are not gone. In fact, you have to choose a page type to initially create a page.

Pre-made pages are simply one app per page, exactly like Centricity1.

Once the page is created you can always go back and alter the page based on the types of apps you include in it.

Flex Editor (Flex Page) is still the standard “go to” page type.
