) is a private based Christian school located in the rural area of Kyazanga, Masaka District, 129 km from Kampala, Uganda.

The school was opened on 9 international funding.

th , February 1998 with nursery and primary blocks and began with 92 students. A local family have funded and built most of the buildings using money earned from their banana plantation. They continue to provide the major source of finance on top of some student fees and some local and

Some funding is received from friends and through the Local leaders for teacher salaries but this is irregular. All fees for accommodating students, resources and teaching the children are paid for by relatives or donations.

The school is made up of teaching rooms, kitchen, staff and sleeping quarters. There is no library as yet. Most of the books are used by teachers to guide learning. There is no electricity although the lines pass nearby. A small generator runs some lighting and firewood is used for cooking. There a few toilet facilities. Water is carried in from wells.

Kyazanga Primary School is managed by a board of governors and directors. The directors include the founding family members. The board and directors plan the use of finance, future development and acquire teaching resources. There is a headmaster and deputy headmaster along with 22 teachers and 15 non teaching staff.

Its Joseph’s task to see that all the children from the school grow up as responsible citizen of the nation.

The school has 360 students. 280 students board at the school including 65 orphans and others a day students. There is an increasing number of orphans because of AIDS and this is placing considerable stress on the school budget. These orphans are looked after by relatives or accommodated by the school. It costs $30 a month for a child to stay at the school. The directors plan to build an orphanage in the future depending on donations and finance.

There are high standards in the school for behaviour and dress. Special importance is placed on succeeding and doing well in their education and that’s why the school is the best in the constituency. The official language at the school is English. The school desperately needs reading materials and reading activities for the children.

The children enjoy their music and dance especially the school band. Sports equipment is nearly non – existent due to funding priorities.
