WHERE FRIENDSHIP, FUN
AND ADVENTURE BEGINS
PURPOSE OF CADETS
Cadets form a national organization with a
history dating back to 1862.
On March 9, 1954, Brig. J. Bennett of Army
Headquarters announced that Lt. Fraser
Neal would be the first Commanding
Officer of 2515 St. John’s Army Cadet
Corps.
Since that day, our purpose has been to
develop in youth the attributes of:
 Leadership
 Engaged and active citizenship
 Physical fitness
WHEN DO WE MEET?
Tuesday evenings from 6:15pm to 9pm and some weekends.
WHERE DO WE MEET?
Lieutenant Commander W. Anthony Paddon Building
The Boulevard, CFS St. John’s (Pleasantville)
HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO JOIN?
You can join 2515 as soon as you've reached your 12TH birthday and you
can remain until you turn 19.
WHAT DO I NEED TO JOIN?
All you need to join 2515 is an interest in the program and your
parent's/guardian's permission. You also have to be willing to attend
regular training and adventure activities.
WHAT DOES IT COST TO JOIN?
There is no enrollment fee to join the cadet program or 2515. However,
our cadets may be asked to take part in fundraising activities that
support optional programming in which 2515 participates.
The two major partners in the Army Cadet program are the Department
of National Defence and the Army Cadet League of Canada (a civilian
non-profit corporation).
DO I PROVIDE MY OWN UNIFORM?
No. The Canadian Forces loan complete uniforms to Cadets, and Cadets
are expected to take good care of their uniform.
CAN I GO TO SUMMER CAMP?
For those interested, Cadets have
summer camps located across Canada.
Our camp is called Argonaut and is
located at CFB Gagetown, NB. Cadets
can go to camp for two to eight weeks
on a variety of courses. Each camp
offers a unique mixture of outdoor
activities and valuable instruction.
Attendance at Cadet Summer Camps is free. The Canadian Forces
provide all transportation, meals, lodging and special equipment. Every
Cadet attending summer camp receives a training allowance; Cadets in
staff positions at camp receive a salary.
CAN I TRAVEL INTERNATIONALLY?
In addition, selected Cadets go on exchange trips to countries such as
Australia, England, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Scotland, Wales and
Italy under an international exchange program. Exchange Cadets are
selected on their high standards in performance, fitness and
involvement in Cadet activities.
WHO TEACHERS AND SUPERVISES US?
All military and civilian staff of 2515 RCACC are under the direct
command of a Captain who serves as our Commanding Officer. In
addition, military staff are Commissioned Officers of the Canadian
Forces Reserves and members of the Cadet Instructor Cadre.
Our staff include both male and female officers who fill positions such
