Program History
National Headquarters in Arlington, VA
Organization Federally chartered by
Congress in 1962
One unit in currently in Iowa, formed in
January 2002
Local units led and managed by
volunteers
Program Costs
$94.50 to enroll for one year
which includes uniform name
tapes
Uniforms are issued free of
charge for use while in program
$53 to re-enroll in future years

What We are About
Among the best youth development

Not a correctional “boot camp” program
Not equipped to deal with highly
oppositional youth or youth with authority

Not a babysitting service
Not about building a false sense of selfesteem
Not about creating false expectations
