Barnaul and its sights
Barnaul
- the large industrial,
cultural and educational centre of
Siberia, and since 1937 an
administrative centre of Altay
territory. In the city there are 9
state high schools, 5 theatres,
many museums, monuments of
architecture of the XVIII-XX-th
centuries function. The population
of the city is small – about 650
thousand inhabitants…
To the basic sights of Barnaul carry variety of
museums. Of known and the largest it is
considered one the Altay state regional museum of
local lore – the oldest museum of Siberia based in
1823
Besides museums in Barnaul some cathedrals and
the churches, standing certain attention are
