What is Moodle?





Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic
Learning Environment
Like WebCT or Blackboard
Like ProgressBook on Steroids
Allows teachers to post content, do online
activities, accept assignments online, and
a myriad of things.
The way that you use Moodle is only
limited by your time and imagination.
Why Moodle?



It is an amazing tool to give any teacher.
Very Flexible.
It gives the ability to post content (handouts,
syllabus, vocab lists, assignments…) and lessons
for students.


Almost all Web 2.0 tools are incorporated into Moodle.
It can make your course more interactive and
engaging for all learners.


Sometimes the most introverted students seem to come
alive online.
Gives you a new way to organize your class.
Moodle Terminology

Resources: are things to see, read, view,
explore…

Activities: are things to do (and there are a
lot!)

Blocks: Items you can add to the left or
right side of your Moodle Course.
Lets Look at example courses…

Courses are setup by the teacher.


The setup can be changed at any time.
Courses are setup in three ways.
