) DC-DC converters are inherent part of most of the renewable energy electrical systems. It is used as an interface between solar PV panel, fuel cell, w ind turbine etc and load or further power processing system. Dr. Amod Umarikar’s group is currently working on High Step Up DC DC converters which can be used as an ‘efficient’ interface between renewable power source and load as shown in figure. Our group has developed some DC-DC converter topologies which gives excellent high step up gains. We are looking for bright and motivated students to pursue the research in the area of step-up DC-DC converters for applications in Renewable Energy. Hybrid Nanodevice Research Group (HNRG) led by Dr. Shaibal Mukherjee in Electrical Engineering explores new physics of micro- and nano-structured materials, and to apply this knowledge to realizing advanced tools and devices for chemical, biological, optical, electronic, and energy applications. HNRG has been actively involved in the cutting-edge research activities in the fields of Nano-photonics, Nano-bio Hybrid Electronics, Photovoltaics, Plasmonic-based Biosensors, Non Volatile Memory Devices, and Transistors. For more relevant information, one should visit the following website: http://www.iiti.ac.in/people/~shaibal/index.htm

. Currently, HNRG group has 5 ongoing research projects from DST, CSIR, and DAE-BRNS and a cumulative research funding of more than Rs. 1.30 Crores. Students and researchers in HNRG have published 15 papers in peer-reviewed and high impact factor journals and 16 conference papers of high international repute till date since the establishment of HNRG research laboratories and infrastructures in the middle of 2012. HNRG is a multidisciplinary research group and its research and development activities involve various aspects of chemistry, physics, biological sciences, materials sciences, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering. Currently, HNRG seeks intelligent and motivated candidates capable of working on challenging research problems primarily in the area of Plasmonic based Biosensors, Non Volatile Memory Devices, Nano-bio Hybrid Electronics, and Heterojunction Transistors. Bright and inspired candidates, having a background in Physics/ Chemistry/ Materials Science/ Electronics/ Electrical Sciences/ Electrical Engineering/ Instrumentation/ equivalent are ideally suitable for and thus strongly encouraged to apply to Hybrid Nanodevice Research Group led by Dr. Shaibal Mukherjee. Candidates with strong analytical, quantitative, and Computer Programming skills are desired. Dr. Vipul Singh ( [email protected]

) Dr. Vipul Singh works in broadly in the area of semiconductor devices. Presently his main focus is on the charge carrier transport in organic thin films and devices. He is also interested in studying Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLEDs), Organic Solar Cells (OSCs), Organic Photodiodes (OPDs) and Organic Field Effect Transistors. At the Molecular and Nanoelectronics Research Group (MNRG) we are also currently actively involved in research and development of inorganic-organic hybrid materials and devices, which tend to exploit the unique properties of both the worlds. At present our focus is to investigate in detail ZnO: P3HT based bi layered hybrid devices. Dr. Singh’s group has been also active in the research and development of biosensors; we have demonstrated high sensitivity glucose biosensor. In the area of sensor our main aim is towards development of unique functional devices exploiting unique material properties again ranging from organic to inorganic, to realize highly sensitive and selective bio/chemical sensors. Interested/prospective Ph.D. candidates are encouraged to visit the following link for more details regarding my group’s activities;
