Congratulations, Savanna
• Savanna Edmunds has been nominated for the
Caplan-Lieber Human Relations Award.
• Today she will be honored during a luncheon
with other high school students in the city at
Rodef Shalom Congregation.
• This award is given for the student who
creates positive inter group relations with in
her school.
• Congratulate Savanna when you see her!
Congratulations, Alayna Yates
• Alayna is a member of the "Girls of Steel" Team.
• The team is the recipient of the 2015 Media & Technology
Innovation Award, sponsored by Comcast NBCUniversal.
• This award recognizes a FIRST (For Inspiration and
Recognition of Science and Technology) team that creates a
robust digital media experience and marketing strategy to
aid their in sharing the FIRST mission of encouraging
science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)
education with others.
• The Girls of Steel won two awards at Championships! The
Entrepreneurship
Award and the Media Award.
• Practice for the Senior Liturgy is today during
8th period in the Chapel. Readers, Altar
Servers, and Student Council Class Officers
need attend this practice.
• Congratulations to the ultimate frisbee team
beating Pine Richland with a score of 15-2!
Spectacular job to offensive player of the
game Caroline Albacete!
• Also, Amy Buck and Francesca Corna recently
made a club in Washington DC this past
weekend.
• Everyone is welcome to support the
seniors on Friday.
There will be a prom club meeting on
Wednesday, April 29th
in Miss Hudock's room
from 2:45 to 3:15.
All are welcome to attend.
Attention Field Hockey Team
• The Field Hockey Booster Club invites you to a General Meeting on
Monday, May 4 at 6PM in the school cafeteria. We would like to
introduce you to the activities we have planned for the coming season
and hopefully entice those students still considering it, to join this fun
sport.

• We expect to have Coach Jackie with us to explain what the preseason training will look like; we will provide information on summer
camp; and we will have a look at the events that we support during the
season that runs August-October.
•
• Please, join us and give it a chance! It is a wonderful way to get
some exercise, make friends across all classes and build team
spirit. And not only for the students, but for the parents as well!

• Looking forward to seeing you on the 4th.
Blood Brother Screening
 Global Awareness Club will host a screening of the
movie Blood Brother. It details the journey of native
Pittsburgher Rocky Braat as he travels to work at an
orphanage for children living with HIV and AIDS. It
is a heartwarming story of how joy prevails despite
poverty, sickness, and death.
 JOA Theater on Thursday, May 7th at 2:50 pm
 Tickets: $3 beforehand, $5 at the door


 All proceeds will go to the Christian organization
WorldVision in order to help those living with AIDS
FBLA Club Picture
All members of FBLA please meet Gretchen Shepard
In the Donahue Pavilion immediately after morning
announcements today.
• The Science Fiction Fantasy Club will be
holding a meeting in Ms. Day's room after
school this Thursday, April 30th. This week's
theme will be fairy tales!
• All are welcome!
• Over the weekend Lauren Finikiotis ran in two
great races. On Friday she won the mile (1600
meters) at the Mars Invitational and on
Saturday Lauren won the 2 mile (3200 meters)
at the South Fayette Invitational.
• Senior Mackenzie also finished 5th in the mile
run at South Fayette.
• Congratulations, Girls!!!
• Volleyball Open Gym's will be Monday and
Wednesdays from 3pm-5pm, starting this
Wednesday April 29.

DANCING WITH THE VIKINGS
• The third annual Dancing with the Vikings will be held Friday,
May 1st at Central Catholic’s McGonigle Theater. It will begin
at 7 o’clock. Attend to watch some of your fellow students
teach some Central Vikings a few dance moves. All funds will
go toward The Guatemala Club and Central’s Haiti Fund.
• Admission is $5. Tickets will be sold next week during lunches.
• Bring some friends! It is a great event for an even greater
cause!
