Writing in Science Assignment
INSTRUCTIONS – GUIDELINES
•This is to be done in Pairs. (Of your Choice)
•Start on p467. Read the red box labeled – Writing in Science
•There are six major accomplishments tied to tracking the cycle of the year.
•As partners, choose one of the six accomplishments to focus on.
•Research specific information about the accomplishment you chose. (EX: facts, figures about
the accomplishments & details of the person(s) that discovered and or created the structure
for this accomplishment. – this will be Due by Fri 9/14. *Note – each student must complete
their own research & document evidence of such research (web sites, books, etc.) to be turned
in with the final product.
•On Friday together you both will write a conversation of a dialogue in which each of you discuss
its importance on your lives. The key is you must do this as if you were from that time period &
culture that made that discovery or structure. (One person writing the conversation, but both
involved in the dialogue and content of the conversation. Due by Monday 9/17.
•On Monday 9/17, each pair of students will briefly state to the class what there conversation
was and any interesting or significant facts about their accomplishment. This is very informal
and should only take 1-2 minutes.
