What do the Civil Society Delegations to
UNITAID do?...
Goal:
 To make prevention, diagnostics, and treatment for
HIV/AIDS, TB, and malaria more accessible to poor and
vulnerable populations in developing countries, by improving
the markets for better-adapted, quality products at lower
prices.
 Bring country and community-level knowledge and
experience to inform Board decisions

Objectives – Accountability and Consultation
 To ensure effective and inclusive participation of NGOs and
Communities representatives in UNITAID official meetings
 To raise awareness among Civil Society actors of UNITAID’s role in the
global health architecture, and support representative and informed
engagement of Civil Society on UNITAID-related issues and selection
of projects for funding
 To enable the NGOs and Communities Board delegations to
implement robust systems and processes which ensure accountability
to the broad constituencies they represent (e.g. evaluation)
