Good Luck to the OC Swimmer's that are
participating in the WPIAL Championships on
Thursday and Friday at the University of
Pittsburgh.

Kondis, Sarah Mautino, Alexa Namestnik,
Melissa Puopolo and Meghan Sismour. Best of
Luck to All!! Swim Fast!!
OC QUEENS almost WON
OVER WESTERN PA SCHL for the DEAF!
The match deadlocked quickly OC 1 WPSD 1
on boards 2 and 3.
Then Emily Carney
on board 4 took
the lead with a
classic double rook
step check mate in
32 moves.
Chess News!
• Next Lauren Tedrick
(board 5), rusty after a
long layoff, fell
exhausted after a 65
move marathon to her
opponent With Pieces
of Superior Domination.
Finally, on board 1 Grace Mitro,
(not knowing the score was tied),
was playing for the victory.
She defended tenaciously under a
strong queen/bishop double
diagonal attack on her king.
Only if she could capture his
bishop, she had a good chance of
winning.
Kudos to the Queens on their near seesaw victory!
OC 2 WPSD 3.
