This session will be a presentation of two of the Web
2.0 technologies that can provide engaging
collaborative opportunities for learning.
For educators, the key is that these are online
read/write technologies so that they can be
accessed not only at school but also wherever
the student or teacher may be at any time.
Increases user creativity and community while
empowering user ownership of content
User-generated content leading to collective
intelligence that benefits many

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a
particular subject; others function as more
personal diaries.
Educational blogs are used for many creative
instructional uses such as online topic discussions,
real world communication, integrating multimedia,
and places to get feedback,

A wiki is software technology that allows users to
create, edit, and link web pages easily.
Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites
and to power community websites.
A major characteristic of wiki technology is how easy
the pages can be created and updated.
Edits can even be real-time.
