Background and Activities
•
Faculty and staff in the Systems Engineering has been
engaged for the last two decades in the area of
maintenance they conducted the following activities:
• Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Training organizations during summer for extended
periods
• Holding short courses
• Conducting several projects for industry.
• Authored several books.
• Founded an international journal in the area of
maintenance that completed 10 years and won four
prizes.

• Conducted projects for many organizations

Conducted the following short courses:

Effective maintenance management
Planned and total productive maintenance .
Maintenance planning and scheduling.
Developed and offered six week training program in
maintenance management for the Coast Guard.
• The Department of Systems Engineering, the Center
host, has developed an associate degree program in
maintenance planning and control to be offered soon.
This is in response to requests from industry.

Mission
• The mission of the CEIM is to serve and support
organizations to develop and improve their
maintenance systems to the best quality
standards: and enhance the educational process
for students and faculty by providing
opportunities for quality research and projects.
Vision
• The vision for CEIM is to be the leading center in
maintenance management and engineering in the
region and a first class source of knowledge and
information in the area of maintenance globally.
Objectives
The CEIM mission shall be accomplished by
pursuing the following objectives:
• High-quality industrial projects and training :
Conduct projects and relevant training programs in
the area of maintenance for industry that meet or
exceed their expectations.
• Excellence in basic and applied research:
Conduct original and high-quality basic and applied
research at the frontier of the area of maintenance.
Objectives
• Enhance the educational process for
students: Assist students in conducting their
master's theses, senior projects and co-op
training programs through effective links
with industry.
Opportunities
• Create partnerships and cooperate with industry
through industrial membership program of the
Center.
• Serve industry in an efficient manner.
• Offer well-guided training programs.
• Link industry in the Kingdom with international
centers in the area of maintenance.

Industrial Membership
We intend to create partnership through the
industrial membership program. There are two
types of membership program: Full member and
associate member.
• Contribute to the center budget.
• Receive many benefits.
Full Membership
Contribute 250,000 SR on yearly basis and receives
the following benefits:
• Will be listed on the center web site as a full
member.
• Annual assessment/auditing of their
maintenance system using the center-approved
evaluation program.
• A short course of 30 hours on a topic of
relevance to the member organization.
Full Membership
• Access to information on the latest development
in the area of maintenance through the center
web site and workshops.
• Access to international centers in maintenance
and related areas.
• 25 % discount on the Center services.
• Priority in membership in the Center –board.
Associate Membership
Contribute 150, 000 SR and receives the
following benefits:
• Will be listed on the center web site as an
associate member.
• Annual assessment/auditing of their
maintenance system using the centerapproved evaluation program.
• Access to information on the latest
development in the area of maintenance
through the center web site and
workshops.
