• RUN!

• Flee sexual immorality I Cor 6:18
• Don’t put yourself in a position to see how good
your resistance is.
• Gen 39:7-12 - Joseph - HE RAN! And he did not
go back for his jacket…
• ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY
• Choose Life! Deut 30:15-19
• If you make the wrong choice it is your fault!

• Confession
• Accountability
• Mental Transformation

• BE ACCOUNTABLE
• James 5:16 “Confess your faults ...”
• John Maxwell - 5 questions:
• Spending time with God?
• Are your thoughts Pure?
• Are you abusing the Trust?
• Are you walking in Obedience?
• Have you been totally truthful about your
answers to #1-4?
If you have fallen . . .
• Accountability is critical.
• Porn is a “private sin” so the temptation is
greatest when you are alone.
• Sharing your struggles with a supportive
friend can break the chains! (Select
someone trustworthy)
• Exposing Satan’s lies to the light will pave
the way to recovery.
Guidelines
• BE ATTENTIVE TO YOUR WIFE!
• Listen to her!
• I Peter 3:7 “Dwell…acc. to knowledge.”
• Prov. 19:14 “House and wealth are an inheritance from
fathers, but a prudent wife is from the LORD.”
• Love Her!
• Ecc 9:9 “Enjoy life with the woman whom you love all
the days of your fleeting life which He has given to you
under the sun; for this is your reward in life.”
Prov 5:15-19
“Drink water from your own cistern
And fresh water from your own well.
Let them be yours alone. Let your
fountain be blessed, And rejoice in
the wife of your youth. As a loving
hind and a graceful doe, Let her
breasts satisfy you at all times; Be
exhilarated always with her love.”

Guidelines . . .
• DETERMINE TO LIVE A PURE
LIFE THROUGH MENTAL
TRANSFORMATION.
• Rom 12:1-2 And do not be conformed to
this world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind, so that you may
prove that which is good and acceptable
and perfect.
• Forget feelings…take Action! It often can
precede Attitude.
• James 4:7 Resist the devil.. And He will
flee!
Guidelines . .
• SIGN AT A GAS STATION:
• “A Clean Engine Always Delivers
Power!”
• A Clean Heart delivers too!
• 2 Tim 1:7 “For God has not
given us a spirit of timidity, but of
power and love and discipline.”
II Tim 2:22
• Now flee from youthful lusts,
pursue righteousness, faith, love
[and] peace, with those who call
on the Lord from a pure heart.
• Phil 4:8 “Whatsoever is . . . Dwell on . .”
• Replace selfish, lustful thoughts of women
with a Godly view of them!
• I Cor 13:4-7 - Higher view that transcends
lust!
It’s better to light one candle than to
stand back and curse the darkness.
Turn on the light - invest in relationships!
God can erase the images of your past and recast
you in His image!

• RECOGNIZE THE
CONSEQUENCES OF SIN
• Prov 6:32 - Adulterer is ..Fool
• Prov 6:26 - Adultery will cost a man all
that he has!

and respect you the

• THINK ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN!
• Keep a family picture with you.
• Sexual sins often are passed on:
David (Bathsheba) - consider
Solomon…
• Your faithfulness is no guarantee--but
it will give them strength.
• Be determined not to be a stumbling
block!

• The Battle is in the mind!
• All deal with sexual images –you do
not have to dwell on these thoughts!
• 2 Cor 10:5 “We are destroying
speculations and every lofty thing
(stronghold) raised up against the
knowledge of God, and we are taking
every thought captive to the obedience
of Christ.”
