Institutional Set-up
Key Responsibilities
Institutional set up
• Pimpri – Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) constituted in the
year 1982
• The body constitutes of
– Elected wing headed by – Mayor
– Administrative wing headed by – Municipal Commissioner
• We manage about 181 sq.kms of area through 4 Ward offices
• We have over 40 departments with a workforce of about 7500
employees
Institutional set up
• We are fully e-governed Corporation
• We have received International Organization of Standard
(ISO) Certification (ISO 9001:2008) for Quality
Management System in March 2012.
Responsible for
• Area planning
• Infrastructure planning, implementation and operation &
maintenance of services in the areas of
• Water Supply,
• Sewerage and Sanitation,
• Solid Waste Management,
• Roads and Transportation,
• Street lighting,
• Health and recreational facilities,
• Education (134 primary and 18 secondary schools)
• Preservation of natural heritage (river conservation),
• Development of housing facility for urban poor/ slums.
