Combat Pill Pack
• For the conscious casualty requiring pain
control, if the soldier is able to continue to fight,
consider the use of oral pain meds that will not
alter the level of consciousness. Celebrex®
200mg or Meloxicam (Mobic®) 15mg orally daily
with 1000 mg of Tylenol® every 6 hours will be
sufficient to control moderate pain. These
medications along with an oral antibiotic will
make up the soldiers “Combat Pill Pack.”
Soldiers will be instructed to take this pack when
they sustain a penetrating wound on the
battlefield

– Acetaminophen 1000 mg po q6hr
– Gatafloxacin 400 mg po
