The Five Core Propositions

 Teachers know the subjects they teach and how to teach those subjects to students.

 Teachers are responsible for managing and monitoring student learning.

 Teachers think systematically about their practice and learn from experience.

Eligibility:

What you need prior to applying:  Bachelor ’s degree  Completed three full years of teaching  Hold a valid state teaching license for that period of time

The Process:

Choose your certificate area Mathematics/Early Adolescence (11-15) Mathematics/Early Adolescence (14-18+) Portfolio Four entries: One entry focused on student work Two video recordings of you and your students Evidence of your accomplishments outside the classroom and their impact on student learning Assessment Center Six 30 minute prompts assessing content
