Proctors is leading the way to regionalization . . . In 2011, Proctors entered into a management agreement with Capital Repertory Theatre to strengthen the organization and ensure the ongoing creation of live theater in the Capital Region.

Proctors also launched “tickets by PROCTORS,” a regional box office serving: • Albany Pro Musica • Capital Repertory Theatre • all events at Proctors • Schenectady Civic Players • Schenectady County Community College • MOHU special events

Proctors is a national example of innovation!

Marquee Power, Proctors energy plant cogenerates

heating, cooling,

and

electricity

, supporting over 1.2 million square feet of downtown, including Transfinder, the Hampton Inn, City Center and all of Proctors. The plant reduces CO2 emissions by over 40 pounds per hour!

Proctors is an economic engine for downtown and a cultural tourism generator • 2 new hotels • 8 restaurants • 11 architectural/tech firms • 6 retailers • 30 artists • 5 media/ad agencies • New 6-screen cinema • New corporate headquarters • Streetscape improvements • Parking expansion Hampton Inn Downtown Schenectady Hotel

74%

of the patrons at Proctors come from

outside

Schenectady County.

These “cultural tourists”

spend about 20% more than

other tourists.

Proctors annual economic impact is over $45,000,000!

For example –

Disney’s The Lion King:

• sold out for 4 weeks in March 2011 • attracted 77,000+ patrons • generated $15.6 million (3 times gross ticket sales) economic benefit to the Region from travel, hotels, restaurants, parking, and other businesses patronized by both theatergoers and production staff + using The Broadway League’s 3 times gross ticket sales, rentals and other revenue

Community support made Proctors a success, but you may not realize . . .

1. Ticket income pays only 67% of the cost of running Proctors 2. Proctors costs $100,000/week to operate 3. As a nonprofit charitable and educational organization, Proctors depends on annual membership/sponsorship/ donations to support mission-driven subsidy-needing programs, including: • Arts education • Community programming • Classical performing arts programs • Operating this historic treasure
