Mississippi State University Extension Service

Who can be a Master Health
Education Volunteer?
• YOU CAN BE!
– No previous experience or training
is necessary
– The majority of applicants do not
have health education experience

• Participants complete 40 hours of instruction
on health and related topics

To become a certified Master Health
Educator, the trainee must complete 40
hours of approved volunteer service
within one year of training.
Active Certification
To remain an active MHEV, you must complete:
• 20 hours of approved service every year
• 10 continuing educational hours in an
approved topic
