The word "Olympics"
originally meant not the games
themselves but the four-year
gap between them. The ancient
Greeks were on the chronology
of the Olympiads since 776 BC.
In honor of the Olympic
Games in Greece a truce for a
month was usually declared.
It’s a tradition to start the games with the
oath. "On behalf of all the competitors I
promise that we shall take part in these
Olympic Games, respecting and abiding by
the rules by which they are carried out, in true
sporting spirit, for the glory of sport and the
honor of their teams."

"1000 Days to Go" - a traditional event that is
celebrated by all the Organizing Committees
of the world and symbolizes the transition of
the process of preparation for the Olympic
Games in the final stage. In Russia the project
is unique in nature: social activities involved
the whole country, everyone could become a
participant of the Olympic Movement.









Mountain climber is a rescuer
leopard who lives in the crown
of a huge tree that grows on
the highest cliff in the snowy
mountains of the Caucasus. He
is always willing to help and
has saved the nearby village of
avalanches.
Leopard is a great snowboarder,
he is teaching the sport all his
friends and neighbors.
Leopard is always in high
spirits, he can not live alone
and loves to dance.
White teddy bear lives in
Arctic.. In his house all
is made of ice and
snow: snow shower , a
bed , a computer , and
even exercise machines
.
White teddy bear is good
at skiing, skating and
playing . But most of all
he likes sledding. His
friends seals enjoy
watching his victories.
They are never bored at
long polar nights.

Bunny is the most
active resident of the
winter forest. Her
friends are always
surprised - and how
has she got free
time!? She
participates in
various sports
competitions. Bunny
assures her friends
that it is no secret:
she just loves sports.
And she loves to sing
and dance.
