TERMS TO KNOW
I Cans or I Can Statements: This is our “kid friendly” term used
for our curriculum. You might be more familiar with words like targets or
objectives. An example might be: I can add fractions with like denominators
YET Lab: YET Lab occurs on Wednesdays. It is similar to a study hall
with opportunities to receive extra help from a specific teacher, if needed.
It is also a time when students can make up tests if they have been absent.
TREC: This happens in the third trimester only. Each middle school
teacher develops a special class to teach on Wednesday afternoons as
enrichment instead of regular homeroom activities. Students will identify
their 1st, 2nd, 3rd choices and then assigned a class. Examples of past classes:
Tool Time, Geocaching, Me Book, Goggles & Lab Coats, Fitness, Mock Trial…
POWERSCHOOL - FROM MR. JORGENSEN
1 – If you have an account from last year you need to keep using the
same username and password, not create a new account.
2 – If you are having trouble logging in, click on the “Having trouble
signing in?” link located on the PowerSchool sign in page.
Students also have usernames and passwords to check their own
homework.
Their username and password are the same as the username and password they use
in the computer lab.
If they have trouble logging in to PowerSchool, chances are good their Windows
password expired. They’ll need to go to the computer lab, or any Windows computer,
and set a new password.
