TERMS TO KNOW
I Cans or I Can Statements: This is our “kid friendly” term used
for our curriculum. You might be more familiar with words like targets or
objectives. An example might be: I can add fractions with like denominators
YET Lab: YET Lab occurs on Wednesdays. It is similar to a study hall
with opportunities to receive extra help from a specific teacher, if needed.
It is also a time when students can make up tests if they have been absent.
TREC: This happens in the third trimester only. Each middle school
teacher develops a special class to teach on Wednesday afternoons as
enrichment instead of regular homeroom activities. Students will identify
their 1st, 2nd, 3rd choices and then assigned a class. Examples of past classes:
Tool Time, Geocaching, Me Book, Goggles & Lab Coats, Fitness, Mock Trial…
POWERSCHOOL - FROM MR. JORGENSEN
 1 – If you have an account from last year you need to keep using the
same username and password, not create a new account.
 2 – If you are having trouble logging in, click on the “Having trouble
signing in?” link located on the PowerSchool sign in page.
 Students also have usernames and passwords to check their own
homework.
 Their username and password are the same as the username and password they use
in the computer lab.
 If they have trouble logging in to PowerSchool, chances are good their Windows
password expired. They’ll need to go to the computer lab, or any Windows computer,
and set a new password.
