WHAT IS FITT?

F – I T – T – FREQUENCY INTENSITY TIME ( HOW HARD YOU WORK ) ( DURATION ) TYPE ( HOW OFTEN ) ( TYPE OR MODE OF ACTIVITY )

OVERLOAD PRINCIPLE

I N ORDER TO IMPROVE YOUR LEVEL OF FITNESS , YOU MUST INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF REGULAR ACTIVITY THAT YOU NORMALLY DO .

CHOOSING ACTIVITIES

• ENJOY WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

• HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU HAVE TO DO THE ACTIVITY.

• CAN YOU AFFORD THE EQUIPMENT NEEDED.

SPECIFICITY PRINCIPLE – O VERLOADING A PARTICULAR COMPONENT WILL LEAD TO FITNESS IMPROVEMENT IN THAT COMPONENT .

PROGRESSION PRINCIPLE : AS YOUR FITNESS LEVEL INCREASES, SO DO THE FACTORS OF FITT.

M ORE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW !!

   Training plateau – a period of time when little, if any fitness improvement occurs.

Overuse injury – muscular injury that results from overloading your muscles beyond a healthful point.

Overtraining – exercising to a point where it begins to have negative effects.
