What is the IGP? A competitive pro-poor grant
program to engage the private sector in innovative
partnership opportunities in water supply,
sanitation, and drainage (solid waste management)
Private Sector = All non-state actors

Definition of Innovation = dynamic processes which
focus on the creation and implementation of new or
improved products and services, processes, positions
and paradigms.
Result in improvements in efficiency, effectiveness,
quality or social outcomes and impacts.

poor to improved services in water supply,
sanitation, and drainage (solid waste management)

Main Grant Features
•
Total Grant Portfolio: $6.25 million
• Small Grants: Minimum $30,000 to $100,000
• Intended to include smaller organizations especially
those working directly with women and vulnerable
groups
• Simpler application form and evaluation criteria
• Large Grants: $100,001 to maximum grant size $2 million
• Cost-sharing requirement: 15% of project budget. Can be in
kind.
• Co-financing possible (working with other development
partners in one project)

Who is eligible?
• For-profit companies, non-government organizations,
community-based organizations, faith-based organizations,
universities, research institutions, and foundations
• Zambian or non-Zambian, provided that non-Zambian
organizations comply with Zambian regulations for
performing business or related activities in the country
• Small organizations seeking grants are encouraged to
affiliate with larger organizations that have the capacity to
formulate a work plan and manage grant funding
