Idle Free Jefferson

It’s easy, just remember to follow the
10 SECOND RULE…
If you're going to be stopped in your
car for more than 10 seconds, turn
the engine off.
JEFFERSON HAS COMMITTED TO REDUCE IDLING IN OUR
COLLEGE VEHICLES AND ON OUR PROPERTY.
Reduce Solid Waste
Minimize unnecessary consumption:

Cut paper use in half by duplexing –
printing or copying on both sides.

Don’t print e-mails or other
documents you won’t really need on
paper.

Avoid excess packaging.
 Bring your own bags and buy in
bulk.
 Drink tap water

Bring reusable shopping bags.

At mealtimes, use reusable items like
mugs, cups, utensils, cloth napkins &
towels rather than disposables.
JEFFERSON COMMUNITY & TECHNICAL COLLEGE REQUESTS THAT NO STYROFOAM
PRODUCTS ARE USED AT MEETINGS AND EVENTS. PLEASE CONSIDER ALTERNATIVES, SUCH
AS PAPER, CARDBOARD, OR SIMILAR RECYCLABLE/BIODEGRADABLE ITEMS.
Single Stream Recycling
Your current office garbage can has become your recycling
bin. Everything but restroom waste, food, and Styrofoam will now be
recycled from that one container.

You will now use a mini bin for your true waste. Simply take your mini bin to a
centrally located ‘true trash’ can or the nearest restroom and dump it when you
have true trash.

Your current office garbage can is now your recycling bin.

Everything but restroom waste, food, and Styrofoam will now be recycled from that
one container.

Please educate your students about this process. We need their help too.

Other recycling items:
Batteries and Toner cartridges – Steve Schiller
Ink jet cartridges – Pamela Dumm

GIVE WHAT YOU DON’T WANT. TAKE WHAT YOU NEED!
Have an item in your office that you don’t want or need? FreeCycle it!
o Free for all Jefferson employees!
o Post items you no longer need, find
items you do, and support the
environment by reusing items rather
than disposing of them.
o A great way to get rid of or find office supplies, laboratory supplies
& equipment, computer supplies, etc. to keep them in circulation
among Jefferson departments!
