Yellow Ribbon Program


Colleges enter into a voluntary agreement with
VA to fund tuition expenses that exceed the
state tuition limit. The institution can contribute
up to 50% of those expenses and VA will match
the same amount as the institution.
Must qualify for 100% of the benefit to use the
Yellow Ribbon Program
How Does Chpt 33 Affect My Other
GI Bills?



36 months of one chpt or up to 48 months by
combining chpts
Kickers can be used with Chpt 33
Irrevocable election to give up chpt 30, chpt
1606 or chpt 1607 (letter from VA)
Transferability
To be eligible to transfer Post 9/11 GI Bill to a
spouse or child a Soldier must meet three
requirements:
 Be eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill
 Have at least 6 years of military service upon
request (Individual Ready Reserves time does
not count)
 Not have an adverse action flag
