Chapter 4
When the going gets
tough…….
Ephesians Ch 4
1 Peter Ch 4
Are you in or out?
There is no in between!
Rev 3:15-16
 I know your deeds, that you are neither
cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or
hot. So because you are lukewarm, and
neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of
My mouth.

Trying to walk on both sides is
dangerous
Walking where it is HOT!
Staying in the Son!
Ephesians 4:1-3
 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord,
implore you to walk in a manner
worthy of the calling with which you
have been called, with all humility and
gentleness, with patience, showing
tolerance for one another in love, being
diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit
in the bond of peace.

What is it to be hot?
 Be
fully submitted to the Spirit
Yield to the fire of God - purity
Practice the gifts
Express the fruit of the Spirit
Examples of being!
2 Timothy 2:3-6
Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of
Christ Jesus. No soldier in active service
entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life,
so that he may please the one who enlisted him
as a soldier. Also if anyone competes as an
athlete, he does not win the prize unless he
competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer ought to be the first to receive
his share of the crops.
 Gal 4:7 Therefore you are no longer a slave, but
a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.



The soldier killed in an
explosion in Afghanistan on
Monday had been injured
in an blast three months
ago. He was named as
Captain Daniel Read,
Kristin Armstrong won gold
medal in Women’s Timed Trial in
cycling at Beijing Olympics. She’s
also known for suffering
from osteoarthritis, while under
training!

We are royal children,
and if a son, then an
heir through God.
Lalmuni Devi of Azadnagar
village in Patna district was
just a labourer but today
she is a successful
farmer. So successful in
fact that this semi-literate
woman from Bihar is among
top 25 Asian farmers today.
Things don’t always go right
1 Peter 4:12-13
 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery
ordeal among you, which comes upon you
for your testing, as though some strange
thing were happening to you; but to the
degree that you share the sufferings of
Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at
the revelation of His glory you may rejoice
with exultation.

It is not about our ability
Zechariah 4:6-7
Then he said to me, "This is the word of the
LORD to Zerubbabel saying, `Not by might nor
by power, but by My Spirit,' says the LORD of
hosts. `What are you, O great mountain? Before
Zerubbabel you will become a plain; and he will
bring forth the top stone with shouts of "Grace,
grace to it.”
 2 Cor 12:9 And He has said to me, "My grace is
sufficient for you, for power is perfected in
weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather
boast about my weaknesses, so that the power
of Christ may dwell in me

1 Peter 4:7-11
The end of all things is near; therefore, be of
sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose
of prayer. Above all, keep fervent in your love for
one another, because love covers a multitude of
sins. Be hospitable to one another without
complaint. As each one has received a special
gift, employ it in serving one another as good
stewards of the manifold grace of God. Whoever
speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the
utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as
one who is serving by the strength which God
supplies; so that in all things God may be
glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs
the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 4:22-27
 that, in reference to your former manner of life,
you lay aside the old self, which is being
corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,
and that you be renewed in the spirit of your
mind, and put on the new self, which in the
likeness of God has been created in
righteousness and holiness of the truth.
Therefore, laying aside falsehood, SPEAK TRUTH
EACH ONE of you WITH HIS NEIGHBOUR, for
we are members of one another. BE ANGRY,
AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go
down on your anger, and do not give the devil
an opportunity.

Ephesians 5:1-2
 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved
children; and walk in love, just as Christ
also loved you and gave Himself up for us,
an offering and a sacrifice to God as a
fragrant aroma.
