Tips and Tricks

OVERVIEW

Volume and Lock Rotation Button  Increase and Decrease Volume  Quickly Mute (Side Switch or hold down bottom volume)  Lock Rotation  Side Switch to lock the screen rotation. In Settings, choose General>Use Side Switch…, then tap Lock Rotation.

Cut, Copy, Paste, Define & Replace  Touch and hold to bring up the magnifying glass, then drag to position the insertion point. Or gently tap a word to be edited.

 Press the Power button and the Home button at the same time.

Change Default Email Signature

 To remove the Apple marketing signature go to:  Settings  Mail, Contacts, Calendars  Signature  Clear the “Sent from my iPad”  Type whatever you wish

Using Special Characters

 If the International Keyboard icon is not present, go to:  Settings>General>Keyboard>International>Keyboards> Add New Keyboard>Emoji

Change Fonts In “Notes”

 The default font on your iPad is “Noteworthy”. If it’s not easy to read, you can change it to “Helvetica”.

 Settings>Notes  Tick “Helvetica” on the right panel

Speak To Text

 Find contacts  Emails  Notes  Screen search  Google search  Older versions (iPad 3):  Settings>General>Keyboard>Dictation
