President’s Annual Report
WIBTA’s Mission Statement
To promote the development, improvement
and broadening of tourism, business and
cultural opportunities and the quality of the
environment of that portion of the
Thousand Islands, St. Lawrence River and
the Lake Ontario Region within and
adjacent to Wolfe Island.
Goals
To stimulate tourism and encourage visitors to this
region by:

-Operating the Wolfe Island Visitors Information Centre;
-Responding to enquiries;
-Hosting the www.wolfeisland.com website
- Organizing events and festivals.
To advance the residential, commercial and agricultural
interests of the community by all proper means.
To conserve the environmental quality of the region
through conservation and preservation of natural
resources.

– Needs more attention to realize its potential
 Development of a Wolfe Island Heritage site on

– Interviews have been conducted with approximately
10 seniors
– Next steps are to transcribe the texts and put them on
the website

Summary
 Another active year
 WIBTA has a very comfortable financial position
 New board will be experienced and more than
capable to move the association forward
 Must continue to emphasize committee work and
get more members to work on committees
 All committees should be very proud of their
achievements this year
 It has been very rewarding to have been the
President for the past two years
