

It is the entertainment centre of New York.
It is full of theatres,bars and restaurants. On New
Year’s Eve, the New Yorkers come to Times Square
celebrate the New Year.
BIG APPLE




It is the most famous city in the
world.
The Big Apple is New York.
It is the largest city in the USA.
A Dutchman Peter Minuit,
bought the island from the
Indians for just 24 dollars. He is
called a New Amsterdam. In
1664 the British took it and they
called it New York.
The Empire State Building




It is the most famous skyscraper in New York.
It was built in 1931.
It was the tallest building in the world for 40 years.
It has 102 floors and on a clear day you can see
for 120 km from the top.
New York


People from countries like Poland, Italy, China,
Ireland came to find a new life there.
In New York are many museums, art galleries,
theatres and nightclubs, thousands of restaurants
and shops, icluding the biggest shop in the world,
Macy’s.
Manhattan


The centrum of New York is the island of
Manhattan.
Today is full of skyscrapes, but 400 years ago it
was the home of the Delaware Indians.
The Statue of Librety



It was a gift from the people of France and is
stands on Librety Island.
It is 93 meters long.
You can get a ferry to the island and visit the
statue.
Central Park


It is in the middle of Manhattan.
Here you can walk, take a boat on the lake, play
baseball or just relax.

The twin towers

The WTC / World Trade Centrum/ was a complex
of 7 building in New York. The Twin Towers
destroyed al Quaeda – Islamic terrorist group in the
11th of September 2001.
