Development Authority (DDAs) in the
implementation of WASH programme
has been developed.
CDCs has the women’s/men’s sanitary
latrine production centres in some of
the villages, supported by UNICEF in
partnership with MRRD.
Challenges
Security in some parts of the country, active
military operations and population
movement
Low number and capacity of implementing
agencies
Limited up to date & disaggregated data.
Limited low cost technology options,
especially sanitary latrines
Interactive learning especially women &
children
Lessons Learned
The CDCs are one of the best
community - based structures which
most Government development
activities are implemented
Project implementation through CDCs
proved to be very effective, as it gives
ownership to the communities and
makes them accountable.
