Mission Statement
To foster the development of alliances among
golf organizations at the state level for the
purposes of improving communication and
the sharing of ideas, determining mutual
opportunities for collaboration, and working
together to foster the growth of the game.
Task Force Objectives
• Record existence and activity of local alliances
• Encourage all alliances to make player development a
lead objective
• Encourage involvement from all allied associations
• Gather “best practices” from existing alliances
• Target states that would benefit from an alliance of golf
organizations but where no alliance exists
• Identify and support leadership in creation and ongoing
efforts of new and existing alliances
• Encourage publication of economic impact studies, use
of GOLF 20/20 template or other sources

Alliance Opportunities
• Host annual summits
• Develop regular means of communication between meetings
• Consider formal structure where possible
• Designate resources and assign responsibilities
• Build a database of facilities and player development contacts
• Promote participation at the facility level in Play Golf America and
other national promotions (Free Lesson Month, Women’s Golf
Week, Take Your Daughter to the Course, etc.)
• Provide volunteers and consumer promotions for
Play Golf America
• If a Play Golf America day does not exist, create one
• Develop relationships with state agencies
• Publish economic impact studies
