TimeTec series is a web-based FingerTec application for managing
employees’ time and attendance data and records.
There are 4 products available in TimeTec Series:
TimeTec Web: Attendance system that
works on a web-based environment via
LAN or the use of Static IP. Suitable for
companies that needs to have data
available within their local area network
or between branches through Static IP.
TimeTec Cloud: Attendance system that
works as Software as a Service (SaaS)
available on cloud technology through
the Internet. Suitable for companies with
dispersed branches/outlets and want
access to information all the time via the
Internet.
TimeTec Mobile:
Smart mobile applications for
iPhone/iPad/Android/Blackberry that
allows users to report attendance via GPS
location and check attendance on mobile.
Suitable for management to track
employees that are always on-the-go.
Web Check-In: A tool to let users check
in and out of work through a simple tool
in the web-browser.
Suitable for customers who do not want
to invest in verification hardware.

TimeTec works as a centralized control centre that collects all data
from individual terminals that are connected to the system and
processes the data to output relevant files and reports as required.

TimeTec Web on LAN: Install a copy of TimeTec Web onto 1 PC/Server and link it up to
FingerTec terminals via LAN. Suitable for a system that runs within the same office.
Limitation: Data is only available within the LAN coverage if it’s not on Static IP.
TimeTec Web/Cloud on Static IP: Terminals that have been loaded with Webster can be
connected to TimeTec Cloud via Internet with the use of Static IP. With this connection,
data is available on cloud at all times and accessible through the internet.

What is Webster: An SDK loaded in terminals to act as an intermediary operating engine and raw
data center between TimeTec Web/Cloud and terminals.
Webster Functions:
• Storing employees’ information uploaded from terminals.
• Sending employees’ information to terminals.
• Storing transaction logs uploaded from terminals.
Things to note about Webster:
• Not visible and it works in the background.
• Holds data that can be copied to MySQL.
• Acts as data backup in emergency situations i.e. data loss, system hang, etc.

TIMETEC WEB EXPLAINED
• TimeTec Web is installed into a dedicated server with LAN or static IP
address to work as TimeTec server.
• Alternatively, users can opt to rent a server at any server farming
agencies to install TimeTec Web.
• The administrator can login to TimeTec Web and create new login
accounts for customers.
• The TimeTec Web administrator, however, supervises the customer
login accounts.
• The administrator can login to any of the accounts anytime to
manage data or operations with the connected FingerTec terminals.

1. Physical Server:
• Recommended to use Windows 7 64-bit as a server to
achieve optimum performance.
• Single Account Activation Key for TimeTec Server Installation.
• IP Address (for LAN)/ Static IP (for Internet).
2. IT Expert/MIS
• Hire an expert in IT/MIS to handle the installation to avoid
complications.
3. Connection
• Internet connection for access of data via TimeTec
Cloud/Web from outstation branches.

TimeTec Cloud is a web service for customers to have an
independent login account. Each company will need to
subscribe to a monthly fee in order to utilize the
workforce management system.

The operation flow is almost the same in both solutions. The difference is in the connectivity, whereby TimeTec
Web is not necessarily Internet-based while TimeTec Cloud is internet-based and its data available on Cloud.
TIMETEC MOBILE EXPLAINED
TimeTec Mobile is an application developed by FingerTec
for mobile devices i.e. iPhone/iPad/Android and the latest
Blackberry smartphones.
The Functions
• Report attendance on mobile devices using GPRS tag.
• Check attendance data on mobile devices.
How it Works
• The TimeTec server pairs a mobile device ID with a unique username/password for every device
(1 device 1 user rule).
• The mobile device user can report attendance and his mobile device ID along with TimeTec verification
details and GPS location which will be saved in the server.
• The user attendance details are also available from the server for easy viewing .
• The application allows valid users to use other mobile devices, but ONLY to check attendance and not to
report attendance to avoid buddy-punching.
• TimeTec Mobile can only transfer and display accurate data when Internet connectivity is available.
Without it, checking of attendance will be recorded in offline mode and uploaded when the mobile device
comes back online.

• Group Check-In on a single device – Available for manager/supervisor.
The manager/supervisor can record attendance of the staff using his/her device.
• The administrator has the highest authority level, as he can view and print records of any user.
However, for his own attendance reporting he needs to change to mode to Normal user.

• Licenses are chargeable at a very minimal price.
WEB CHECK-IN EXPLAINED
TimeTec Web Check-In is a tool that enables
TimeTec users to log in to the TimeTec Server using
their individual username/password and report
their attendance via a web browser.
The Functions
Offers alternative to customers to use TimeTec even though they do
not have any FingerTec terminals installed in the system.
How it Works
The TimeTec server captures the date and time of a user’s
laptop/PC during the Web Check-In process.
The date and time of the laptop/PC is always synced to the
Internet time zone once the connection is established.
More Info
The TimeTec Web Check-In solution is suitable for all small
outlets/branches with a relatively small number of
employees.

• The application is available with every installation of TimeTec.
• Licenses are chargeable at a very minimal price.
