New Exchange Opportunities • • District grants may be used to fund exchanges, so long as the students are not direct lineal descendants of Rotarians Outbound-only certified districts: • • • South Asia: 3020 (India), 3051 (India), 3281 (Bangladesh) Africa: 9110 (Nigeria), 9211 (Uganda, Tanzania), 9212(Ethiopia and Kenya only), 9220 (Comoro Islands, Djibouti, Madagascar, Mauritius, and Seychelles only; Reunion and Mayotte are fully certified) Oceania: 9500 (East Timor) TITLE | 19

Annual Certification Renewal • Districts annually must attest that they continue to meet all certification requirements • Why ?

– Ensure consistency across turnover in district leadership – Confirm correct district chair appointments!

• Renewal materials are sent to current and incoming district governors and Youth Exchange chairs in April-May TITLE | 20

Recertification • Districts recertify every 5-7 years – 302 districts have successfully completed recertification!

• Why?

– Keep apprised of local laws/regulations – Learn about best practices and successes • Successes: – Reduction of alternatives – Improvement in documentation TITLE | 21

Program Evaluations • • • Staff continue to perform 4-5 onsite program evaluations each year Almost 30 evaluations performed in 20 countries • Ensures compliance with certification requirements and shares best practices Some general findings: – Youth Exchange builds and retains membership – Early communication of problems – Succession planning – Club motivation and compliance TITLE | 22

Student Travel Insurance Requirements
