Redesigning the transition from
Secondary to Postsecondary Education.
Commissioner Brenda Cassellius, Chancellor Steven Rosenstone,
MOHE Director Larry Pogemiller
• align high school assessment with measures of readiness for
post-secondary education;
• provide targeted support while students are in high school if
students are not on track to being ready for post-secondary
education;
• increase opportunities for high school students to earn postsecondary credits earlier when they are ready for post-secondary
education;
•
better align students’ educational plans with workforce needs.

Support from college
administration……….
Perkins programs of study – articulated credits.
“Everyone is in agreement that we should pursue
policy/procedure language on articulating K12
agreements and ensure they are transcripted in some
way and can transfer from institution to institution. It
would include the need to create a state wide
articulation repository.”

Gov. Dayton budget proposes
$80 million in new funding for MnSCU
$12 million for internships/apprenticeships
$26 million for leveraged equipment
$8 million for education innovations

Steven Rosenstone “There is outstanding alignment
among the Governor’s budget, MnSCU’s funding request
and the work that needs to be done to keep Minnesota
competitive and put people back to work. We appreciate
