The Transport Plan
Why does Sky need a travel plan?
•
•
•
•
To comply with GLA and TfL targets related to H1 planning permission
To effectively manage restricted parking
To respond to staff needs to recruit and retain best employees possible
To reinforce Sky’s green credentials
Transport Strategy Overview
Main issues
Why?
Legal requirement related to planning application for Harlequin 1 building to
reduce the number of car parking spaces on site by 536 by 2016
What are the main issues?
•Increased occupancy of Campus leading to increased demand for parking
•Many staff live far away and/ or work on shifts making the alternatives
unviable
Strategy
To facilitate voluntary behaviour change for Sky people who can most easily
change behaviour, so that those who have no alternatives can travel to work
by car

Harlequin 1
• A high-tech building employing 800 people from our Osterley
campus.
• Harlequin 1 - sustainable landmark broadcast facility
• The new building will provide studios, technical, and
operational space for people in Broadcast Operations, Sky
Sports, and Broadcast Technology.
• Post-production and technical spaces are in the centre with
office space wrapped around the building to allow everyone
access to natural daylight, fresh air and great views across all
floors.
• It's set to completely change both the way our people work
and the scope of content we deliver.
