Fernway
School
In February, Fernway was evaluated for verification.
Only great things were expressed about our school.
A report was filed with IB in Bethesda and a recommendation
was sent to IB Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
On March 19th, 2013 we heard from IB that
we had been named an IB World School!
Congratulations Fernway!

international education and rigorous assessment.
These programmes encourage students across the world to become

Featured Country:
Iran
• More than 10 percent of Iran’s population is nomadic
or seminomadic, meaning that they move from
place to place instead of living in just one location.
• In the desert city of Yazd, some older houses are built
below ground, where residents can escape the heat.
These houses have special towers that are designed to
catch breezes and point them downward, creating a
kind of natural air conditioning.
• Iranian rugs and carpets are known worldwide for their
fine craftsmanship and design.
