Grandfather got sick and Little Willy didn’t know until he didn’t wake up. Then Searchlight and Little Willy found Doc. Smith for help. Little Willy opened the door and there was a guy with a handgun. He was the tax man who came to get the taxes. Little Willy’s grandfather had not been paying his taxes. The tax man said Grandfather had to pay $500. Before that, Little Willy went to Mayor Smiley’s office and saw the poster for the dog sled race. Mr. Smiley thought Little Willy couldn’t win the race. ROHAN Kaylee SETTING One Friday morning at a bank. CHARACTER Stone Fox - calm Mr. Foster - reasonable Little Willy- energetic Summary In this chapter Little Willy is in the bank. Little Willy talks to Mr. Foster. He talks to him about using his college money to enter a race. Later on, Stone Fox comes down the road. Setting Friday night at an old barn Characters Little Willy-worried Stone Fox-kind Searchlight - determined Little Willy meets Stone Fox. Stone Fox was protective of his dogs. He gave little Willy a black eye because he touched his Samoyeds. Little Willy and Searchlight were winning the race and Stone Fox started off dead last. Little Willy took a shortcut across the lake. The other racers did not attempt to cross the lake. She also wanted to win the race to help Grandfather to pay taxes. Little Willy and Searchlight were close to winning the race.
