Government is controlled by a King or Queen.
They held all the power in the nation’s
government and were able to rule by force.
***The King or Queen inherit this power
through family blood OR through divine right.

all the power. The government has total
control over the lives of the people. It rules
the nation by force (and usually fear).
***Take power by force.

both and shoots you.

Democracy is Greek for “rule of the people”.
Government are ruled by the people directly
or by elected officials.


All the voters in a community meet together
to make the laws and decide what actions to
take in any situation.

The people elect representatives to carry out
the work of the government. The elected
officials make laws and decisions for the
people. *This is the American form of
Democracy.*

mobilization of a single ideal – everyone
working for the betterment of the community.
