What is Double T?
 We are a student affiliate of the American Society
of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)
 Professional association that represents
pharmacists who practice in hospitals,
health maintenance organizations,
long-term care facilities, home care,
and other components of health care systems.
 For more than 70 years, the Society's 40,000 members
include pharmacists, student pharmacists, and pharmacy
technicians.
What is Double T?
 We are also affiliated with Texas Society of
Health-System Pharmacists (TSHP).
 Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists serves the
pharmacy professionals of Texas.
 TSHP provides networking opportunities, education,
mentor-ship, competitions, awards and much more for its
members.

Mission of Double T
The mission of the Texas Tech Student Society of
Health-System Pharmacists (TTSSHP) is to bring
awareness of pharmacy practice in health-systems
and clinical pharmacy practice settings, provide
information to students about career directions in
and credentials needed for pharmacy practice in
health-systems and clinical pharmacy practice
settings, and encourage membership and
participation in state and national health-systems
pharmacy organizations as a student and upon
graduation.

 Every April, TTSSHP hosts an informal program featuring
SOP’s residency directors, residents, and P4s that have
accepted residencies.
 Students get the opportunity to ask questions in a casual
and relaxed environment to gain advice and insight in
residency program.
 Speakers at General Meetings
 Speakers talk about their careers and offer valuable insight
 Subscription to American Journal of Health-System
Pharmacy
Enhance your Clinical Skills
 TTSSHP sponsors the annual Texas Tech Clinical Skills
Competition during the Fall semester
 Winners get the opportunity to represent Texas Tech at the
national CSC held during the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting
with free registration.
 Prizes are awarded to top teams of every class (P1-P4)
 Community Service Events
 Our organization is dedicated to engaging with our local
communities and assisting those in need
 Double T has participated in several events including Teddy
Bear drives, book donations to pediatric wards, and building
houses with Habitat for Humanity

 Conventions and meetings hosted by ASHP and TSHP can

 ASHP is the sole accrediting agency for all pharmacy
residencies in the United States
 2-day event featuring residencies across the nation

 Health-System Internship Opportunities
 TSHP internships are awarded to pharmacy students to
provide exposure to the variety of pharmacy practice
settings available in health-system pharmacy.
