World Languages
7th grade- Spanish A
introduces students to a new alphabet, language
sounds, and where Spanish is spoken. Students learn a lot of basic vocabulary, without getting heavy
into grammar. Students will begin to read, write, and speak in Spanish and understand how useful
learning a foreign language will be in their futures.
8th grade-Spanish B
continues reinforcing what was learned in Spanish A
and moves forward with telling time, learning body parts and using clothing vocabulary while
getting more in depth with verbs, adjective agreement and making nouns plural. One must take
Spanish A before Spanish B. Students will have good base when beginning high school Spanish. At the
high school level we offer Spanish 1-6 and many students test out of college credits after taking the
placement test. After Spanish A and B students should take high school Spanish 1.
A grade of C or better in English class is recommended in order to take Spanish 1, but not required.
