University Selection & Application Process Riverview High School IB Class of 2015 Parent Meeting December 18, 2013 Goals of this Research Unit 1. Time to get real about college 2. Begin to formulate a resume 3. Understand the relationship between IB & college 4. Follow the steps to identify the variables that are important to you 5. Search to identify possible colleges IB Is The Key To Success SAT and ACT representatives say rigorous high school course work is the best preparation for college entrance tests. College representatives note rigorous high school course work as the best preparation for success and retention in college. Student Survey All respondents tended to be granted acceptance at a higher rate than the total population, and Diploma candidates were granted admission at a much higher rate than the total population. University Recognition IB Diploma students can expect the maximum of amount of college transfer credits available. (Most students start college as sophomores.) IB Diploma students have a higher percentage rate of college acceptances than regular applicants. IB graduates are documented to have higher college GPA’s than other students.
