Any child entering 7th Grade needs to have
had two (2) MMR’s: Measles, Mumps,
Rubella, & Tdap (Td booster).
It is also recommended that your 7th grader
obtain their Hepatitis B vaccinations for
protection against this blood-borne
pathogen.

How are the days used?”

Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays… used for
extra help, making up or retaking tests,
redoing unsatisfactory work, organizing one’s
work, studying, and/or using the computer
lab or library.

In 7th and 8th Grade all students will take a
Performance Based Assessment (March 14th –
April 15th) in Math and E/LA
In 8th Grade only Performance Based
Assessment (March 21st – April 8th ) in Science
In 7th and 8th Grade all students will take an
End of Year Assessment (April 18th – May 20th)
in Math and E/LA
In 8th Grade only End of Year Assessment
(May 2nd – May 20th) in Science

Students in 7th and 8th Grade will also take
part in MAP Testing in Math, Reading and
Science 3 different times during the school
year (August, December, & April)

8th Graders take the ASPIRE Test

Seventh Graders who fail more than
two subjects will be retained in
seventh.

Students with 3 F’s may take summer
school to make up a failed course. If
they pass they will be promoted.
Students with 4 F’s or more do not
have this option.









Students in 7th & 8th Grade are eligible to take
college-level courses with a passing score on
a college-readiness exam.
Reminder – if a student has submitted their
intent for CCP, the deadline to apply to BGSU
is April 17th.


based on MAP scores and teacher
recommendation:

*Junior High acceleration takes place during the 7th Grade year
which allows 8th Graders to take Freshmen-level courses.
