Process Management (PM)
History




March 2004 - College’s Strategic Plan was rolled out
Summer 2005 - the PM Steering Committee was
formed with approximately 35 members. This
committee was balanced with representation from
the various employee groups as well as College
Planning Council.
Fall 2005 - the College launched the first Process
Management teams.
Fall 2006 - the PM Steering Committee was reconstituted, downsizing to the current 25 members.

PM technology is a new wave of efficiency and
effectiveness based on proven Six Sigma principals.
PM assists colleges and universities in continuously
improving their systems and processes in order to better
serve their students and stakeholders.
Owens CC PM teams have started 36 quality
improvement projects, involving 230 college stakeholders.
10 are completed/retired.
6 will give progress reports in Oct.
6 are due to report out in Nov.
2 will report out in the spring
6 are pending projects at or close to implementation
6 are currently in training (Fall 2007).
