partnership with RCMP

Royal Newfoundland
Constabulary to bring an
international training
venue to our doorstep.

July 2007 former AWLE President MacNaughton,
RNC Chief Browne and RCMP A/Comm. Gerry
Lynch agreed to co-host the IAWP conference.

$30,000 seed money, co-directors and committee
members from each police agency.

AWLE to contribute $5,000 and executive and inkind support.
April 2008 the AWLE and Conference CoDirectors hosted the IAWP Board of Directors
Board Meeting in St. John’s.
September 2008 the 2012 Newfoundland
Conference Bid Committee made a successful
presentation at the IAWP AGM in Australia.

50th Annual IAWP Conference
In 2008 while at the IAWP Annual General
Meeting in Darwin, Australia the St. John’s bid
committee, in partnership with the AWLE, won
a historic bid to host the 2012 International
Conference.
